Four years ago, GUYOT environnement acquired Hirumet in the Spanish Basque Country (200,000 tons recovered annually, 80 million euros in turnover in 2022). Today, Hirumet has continued its development within the GUYOT Environnement Group by acquiring the company Esnaola, based in Idiazabal.
Located in the town of Idiazabal in the Spanish Basque Country, this new industrial site complements to the GUYOT Environnement Group’s capacity of 15,000m², ½ of which is covered. This new acquisition further extends the market area of GUYOT environnement in the region.
Equipped with three powerful machines, Esnaola generated a turnover of 16 million euros in 2021 by processing 40,000 tons of production scrap for Spanish foundries and steel mills.
"This new facility in the Spanish Basque Country enables us to better serve our local clients with a high-performance production tool. We are building our growth with the aim of finding outlets for the products for our customers and independent suppliers. In the recycling and recovery industry, which is once again experiencing significant consolidation, the collaboration between the Esnaola family and the GUYOT family is a strong signal sent to the market," commented Erwan GUYOT, co-manager of the GUYOT Environnement Group.
GUYOT environnement received support from Ernst & Young, represented by Elsa Puentes Hernández, to facilitate this merge.
